BPA Counseling Mission Statement
The Mission of Burgess-Peterson Academy’s school counseling program is to support and cultivate all students’ abilities to be knowledgeable, caring learners who are empowered to inquire, explore, and theorize about themselves, others, and the world around them.
BPA Counseling Vision Statement
The Burgess-Peterson Academy counseling program envisions a future where all of our students realize their academic, career, and life potential, always grounded in global citizenship, the practice of empathy and encouragement, and the ongoing work to gain cultural awareness of self and others.
The Burgess-Peterson Academy school counseling program provides ALL students with school counseling services through classroom instruction lessons. The goal for the 2022-23 school year is for each class to receive 8 lessons by the end of the school year. Click HERE for the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors Action Plan for the 2022-23 school year.
Use of Time Reports
The American School Counselor Association defines an advisory council as a "representative group of stakeholders selected to review and advise on the implementation of the school counseling program. It is explicitly focused on the school counseling program and gives a voice to stakeholders through dialogue and critique. The council meets at least twice a year and maintains an agenda and minutes for each meeting. " --ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs, 4th Edition
